Peter David Morrell began Sound Foundations Music in 2018, providing fun, high quality, instrumental lessons in the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames, UK.
The Sound Foundations philosophy is that gentle, patient playfulness will encourage, uplift and inspire the voice of the individual student. Lessons avoid too much pressure for the individual child - they probably have enough on their plate with homework and exams, these days! Each student is treated as a musician in their own right, be it as a pianist, singer or violinist, encouraging students to take pride in their musical ability. People of any age and ability are welcome to lessons; current students range from ages 5 - 85 - that's 4 generations!
In his multi-instrumental performing career spanning twenty plus years, Peter has sung before audiences worldwide including on tour in South Korea, Hong Kong, Norway, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and the USA. Songwriting credits include indie rock EPs for The Wild Violets (2015 - 17). Peter holds a First Class Bachelors of Music degree from City, University of London, and has ABRSM Grade 8 in singing, piano, and violin. He lives in Wimbledon, UK.
"Peter has been teaching our daughters for over a year now and
his enthusiasm is infectious - the girls always look forward to their lessons with him in the 'Music & Movement' classes and we see the results as they sing their way through the week!"(Lourdes H.)
"The violin and piano lessons provided by Peter is fantastic. He is very gentle, knowledgeable and professional. I can totally see that he always over-delivers. I recommend him very much and glad to have him teaching all (three of) my kids!"
"Peter is a wonderful teacher, professional and enthusiastic! He is very patient with my 5 year old son. He provides a fun environment and teachers in a way easy for my son to understand. He enjoys each piano lesson from Peter. I would highly recommend him." (Irene C)
